The JDB Story
Jacksonville Design Build, known as JDB Homes, was formed in August 2007, the vision of 21-year building veteran John Molyneaux. Drawing upon his wealth of experience and his passion for home building, John’s desire is to provide the families of Jacksonville, FL “The Right Design” with new, innovative plans and “The Right Experience” in owning a well-crafted, affordable new home with lasting value, all while serving and supporting the communities in which he builds.
Although construction has been a Molyneaux family tradition for over four generations across several continents, John’s personal experience started while in college framing houses, ultimately working his way up to Division President of some of the country’s largest home builders. Simply put, John knows the home building business and it’s not only in his blood, but his driving passion. In fact, John has received numerous awards and recognition over the years for offering outstanding customer service and satisfaction in his leadership roles with the national home builders, as well as for his community service through organizations such as HabiJax and Builders Care.
What makes JDB Homes unique? First, it is our approach to new home building. In order to offer “The Right Design,” we begin by conducting extensive market research, talking one-on-one with customers about what they want in a new home, what is important to them, and where they want to live. You see, rather than select product off the shelf that has been re-used in multiple communities, we at JDB Homes begin by only buying property where people desire to live, then it’s simple – our team of professional home designers and architects work to detail new, creative floor plans and elevations, resulting in a Designer Collection of unique new homes that fit specifically into that community, delivering the very best look and value.

The JDB Homes 4-Step Building Process
At JDB Homes, we appreciate the faith and confidence you have placed in our company and feel both honored and privileged to be building your new home. Our assurance to you is that your new home will be built Right and that you will have been given the Right experience in owning a JDB Home. With customer satisfaction being our highest priority, our promise to you is that we will NOT be satisfied with a job well done until we have earned a referral or recommendation from you.
1) Design Review
Before construction begins on your new home, our dedicated JDB Team wants to ensure every detail in your new home is just the way you have dreamt it to be. Therefore, within 4 weeks of purchasing your new home and receiving mortgage approval and the building permit, you will be scheduled to meet with our New Home Specialist and Construction Specialist to review and confirm your site plan, new home design, and the personalized features selected.
2) Frame Review
Once your home reaches the finished frame and systems stage, which normally occurs within 60 days of starting new home construction, you will be scheduled to meet our Construction Specialist at your new home to review all of the following quality JDB features:
• Structural Components/Concrete/Grading
• Framing/Windows/Roofing
• Heating/ Cooling/ Electrical/ Plumbing (Systems)
• Home Elevation Design
• Insulation/Sealants for Heating & Cooling Efficiencies
3) Quality Assurance Check
After your new home has received a final inspection from the City of Jacksonville Building Department, our Quality Assurance Team will meet with our Construction Specialist Team to perform a thorough, detailed quality Inspection of your new home. At JDB Homes, we utilize our own unique, rigorous 200 Point Quality Checklist on all of our new homes so that you have piece of mind knowing your new home has been built with care and pride – or in other words, you can take comfort that your new home has been built Right!
4) Homeowner Orientation Review
Your new home is now complete! Our JDB Warranty Specialist will walk you through your finished new home and show you how it functions and operates, as well as discuss warranty coverage and maintenance tips. At this time, we want to make sure you are nothing short of delighted with your new home. Once you are completely satisfied, we will arrange a convenient time for closing within the next 5 business days.
